Tucked into a sunny stretch of Broadway in Uptown Oakland, Sweet Bar Bakery has been the kind of place that feels like a hug since the moment you walk in. The smell of butter, vanilla, and just-pulled bagels drifts onto the sidewalk and pretty much decides where your morning is headed.
We bake everything from scratch - flaky scones with crackly tops and tender middles, generous breakfast sandwiches piled onto bagels and croissants, fresh-from-the-deli Nova lox plates, and the cupcakes that have made more than a few birthdays unforgettable. It's American comfort baking, served with a friendly Oakland heart.

Great scones! I tried both the berry ginger and the orange cranberry. Both were excellent. Nice and crunchy on the outside and tender inside. Not one of the cakey ones you get some places.
